Project Tornado hits Peete Elementary Monday morning

On Monday, April 2,  KLTV Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto took his Project Tornado presentation to Peete Elementary in Tyler.

Principal Sterling and the school's nearly 300 second- through fifth-graders were the perfect hosts as they welcomed Mark and listened attentively as he told them stories about what can happen in severe weather, and ways to keep safe during those situations.

The students asked some great questions and then promised that they would go home and have their families do practice tornado drills.

Here is a list of safety tips explaining what to do if you are ever caught in a tornado.

On Wednesday, April 4, Project Tornado will hit Grace Community School in Tyler at 8:30 a.m. Be prepared!
