Join Tyler Firefighters in turning Tyler pink on Oct. 3

Released by the City of Tyler:

To raise awareness of women’s cancer, Tyler Firefighters are inviting the entire community to don their pink shirts for the third annual TURN TYLER PINK event on Oct. 3, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. on the Downtown Square.

The event will feature a pink fire truck and police car that travel the state to raise awareness of cancer, as well as a blood drive, health information, music, free screenings, food, and of course – firefighters in pink!

“This event is an opportunity for the entire community to come out and honor those who have been affected by cancer,” said Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass, a breast cancer survivor. “I hope that everyone will come out in their pink shirts to show their support for their friends and family-members that are battling this disease.”

Turn Tyler Pink shirts can be purchased at Gallery Main Street, 110 W.
