TransformationTyler Rallies community to revival | Community Spirit
Ron Luce of Teen Mania, Pastor Emmanuel "Emy" Nnyanzi of Uganda and Dr. Stan Coffey will be the featured speakers at the revival-styled event hosted by Transformation Tyler at Tyler Rose Stadium on May 10-12, 2012 at 6 p.m. each evening.
“God has called us to transform our culture by being ‘salt and light,’” said Sam Griffith who is leading the efforts to bring attention to the area-wide revival event. “We are calling all Christians to come together to be encouraged to continue transforming Tyler into His vision for our lives and for our city, a vision of peace and justice and love for our fellow citizens, and to worship God together.”
TranformationTyler is a group of local Christians from many denominations and churches who are rallying around the ideas presented in Isaiah 61: 3-4, “They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated.”
“We are seeking a total transformation of people, their minds, their lives and their communities, to bring them into conformity with God’s great calling in their lives,” according to the TransformationTyler website.
In advance of the revival, Mark Cahill will assist participants in evangelism training sessions Friday evening at 6p.m. and Saturday morning at 9a.m. on April 20-21 at Grace Community Church on Old Jacksonville Highway. Cahill is the author of One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven and One Heartbeat Away.
Through the pre-event training, all the participants will learn Cahill’s techniques – or “just tell what Jesus has done in your own life” - and be encouraged to witness to their friends and neighbors and bring them to the revival, according to Griffith.
