East Texas has no shortage of fun, entertaining, and even educational things to do. When you have your weekend days off,  you can find something great  to do locally to save your gas money and support local business!

Mineola: Brittany Bexton concert at Henry's House of Java (on Hwy 80 beside Dairy Queen). 6:00 p.m. No cover charge, but tips are always appreciated.

Tyler: Thursday, March 14: Monty Python and the Holy Grail will be onscreen at the historic Liberty Theater on the Square in downtown Tyler. Winnsboro is having a special Main Street 10th Anniversay celebration all weekend. According to WinnsboroOnlineGuide.com, Main Street Opening Ceremony will be held Friday, March 15 at 10:30 am with a reception following  at Winnsboro Center for the Arts 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.

3rd Friday Art Walk Friday evening at 6:00 pm - Starts at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts.  Stroll through downtown and peek in the windows to see "Then" and "Now" photos.

Also in Winnsboro, a special Farmers' Market will be held on Saturday, March 16 at the Depot. Also enjoy Live Music Sponsored by:Crossroads, Double C Steakhouse and Brewbaker's Pub.

Tyler: The Collings Foundation Wings of Freedom Tour will arrive at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport between noon - 2 p.m. on Friday, March 15 and will LEAVE on Monday, March 18 at 10 a.m.

The Wings of Freedom Tour is once again being hosted by the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum. Ground tours will be $15 for adults and $8 for children 12 years and under. This will include a tour of the museum and the B17, B24, and P51 bombers.

Rides may be purchased on the B17 & B24 for $425 and on the P51 for $2200 for 1/2 hour and $3200 for 1 hour. Entry fees to the ramp area to tour the aircraft and rides on the planes are handled exclusive by the Collings Foundation. More details at CollingsFoundation.org.

Tyler:  The Main Street Flower Market is this weekend, March 15-16!  The beautiful open-air market features things for, from and about the garden. It's a great way to celebrate the opening of Azalea Trails! The Flower Market is this Friday and Saturday at 624 N. Broadway on the grounds of the historic Goodman-LeGrand Museum. Mineola: Marches In March concert - The Lake Country Symphonic Band will be in concert Sunday March 17 at 2 pm at the Historic Select Theater. Call the box office at 903-569-2300 for reservations. Adults $5, children free.

Mineola: On Friday, March 15th, ASET will sponsor School Night for Astronomy for all public, private and home-schooled students in the area beginning with SunSpot viewing about 5pm and running until about 9pm.

These events are subject to weather restrictions. A cancellation notice will be posted and aired on the ASET website www.asetexas.org , local newspaper's internet site and KMOO Radio 99.9 by 4pm of each day.
