The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department will be opening Fun Forest Pool, located at 900 N. Glenwood Ave., from 1 to 7 p.m. this Saturday, June 1. There is no admission charge.
Fun Forest Pool is the only Olympic size outdoor pool in East Texas. There is also a sprayground attached to the pool area. Woldert Park Pool will not open at this time.
“The City is diligently recruiting lifeguards to work this summer and if we reach the required number of lifeguards to open Woldert Park Pool in a timely manner then a notice will be sent out,” said Debbie Isham, special events/recreation manager.
The City requires that patrons who plan to swim must wear an actual swimming suit. No cotton clothing or basketball shorts are allowed in the pool.
ALL CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST BE REGISTERED BY THEIR PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN WITH THE POOL MANAGER BEFORE ENTRANCE INTO THE CITY POOL. Children under the age of 13 must have an adult present with them at all times.
